Is there an enemy that Jesus cannot defeat? God "desires all people to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth." But that will is thwarted in some, because of their pride. Self-righteousness isn't a disease that strikes only Pharisees; those of us who were good church boys and girls have to watch out for it, too. Jesus told a story about this.
