Jesus didn't need to touch the leper in order to heal him...but Jesus did touch the leper. The Lord healed 10 lepers at once just by giving them a command, which they obeyed. And only one returned to thank Him - you remember the story. So why would He touch one thoroughly diseased man who begged Him? It must have been a shocking sight.
