The devil gets very chatty with us in the desert. You've done the right thing, you've obeyed God - you've paid the price for that - and now you're waiting. It feels like you're in a dry wasteland. And just like Jesus' wilderness temptation, Satan is speaking. But where is God? The "Hebrews" addressed in the New Testament letter had the same problem we have: a long, painful gap of time between the performance of their faith, and the reward.
