It's the carnivores vs. the vegetarians! The early Christians in Rome had a problem. Some wanted to honor God by abstaining from meat and enjoying holy days; others wanted to honor God by doing the reverse. Apparently there wasn't a king-like human authority in the church... in Rome... who could decide the matter for them. To this day similar disagreements continue to give Christians reasons to either judge each other, or accept our differences.
